Justin Robert Halgrim was born on April 1, 1993 to Joanie and John Halgrim of Fort Myers, Florida. Justin returned to the loving arms of his Lord on August 25, 2015—on loan to us from God.Justin is preceded in death by his older brother John Halgrim, maternal grandfather, Edward Streit, and maternal aunt Deborah Streit Radabaugh, and paternal uncle Thomas Halgrim. Justin is survived by his parents, Joanie Halgrim and John Halgrim of Fort Myers; his siblings, sister Jamie Halgrim (19) and Jacob Halgrim (12) of Fort Myers, grandparents, Robert and Caroline Halgrim of Fort Myers and Jackie Streit Chavers and Gary Chavers, of Carmel, Indiana; uncle Robert Halgrim of Fort Myers, aunt and uncle Summer and Erik Halgrim of Fort Myers, aunt and uncle Julie and Ed Streit of St. Charles, Illinois and aunt and uncle Sherrie and Brian Ager of New York, New York and aunt Laurie Streit of Alisa Viejo, California as well as cousins Jackson and Thomas Halgrim, extended family and friends.Justin attended Orangewood Elementary School, Dunbar Middle School and Fort Myers High School, graduating in 2011.Justin was an avid lover of the outdoors, in particular fishing, where he was most at peace on the water. He competed in fishing tournaments and became known for the excellent catch of snook that he caught in the waters around southwest Florida. One of his greatest joys was to go on fishing trips with his brothers and his father and uncles. Justin cherished his family and friends. He was a devoted son and brother, who loved spending time with his sister and brothers and family, either at cookouts or just working alongside his grandfather.Justin possessed a creative and entrepreneurial streak, and hoped to run his own business one day. He had dreams to build his own landscaping business. His creativity and business sense were his passion, and an asset that he planned to hone further. He was a quick and perceptive learner, with a shy, charming smile that could disarm anyone.A Memorial Service for Justin will be celebrated at the Next Level Church-Gateway Campus, 11081 Gateway Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33913, (239) 274-3755 on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:30 AM. Friends will be received for Visitation in the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM prior to the church service. Memorial ceremonies will conclude at Next Level Church as Justin’s interment at Memorial Gardens Cemetery will be private.A sweet and sensitive young man, Justin was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by his family and friends. His victories were our victories, and his struggles were our struggles. His life, though far too short, touched us greatly.
