Kastriote Q Metollari's Obituary
Kastriote Q. Metollari, 66, a Fort Myers, FL resident since 2001, formerly of Albania passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022, peacefully surrounded by her loving family under the care of hope hospice. She was born May 13, 1955, in Permet, Albania to the late Qemal and Halime (nee Kondi) Metollari.
Kastriote was an amazing woman who devoted her life to her family and faith. Kastriote moved from Albania to America to give her daughters a brighter future. She left everything she knew behind and risked everything to make this dream a reality. When she arrived in the United States, she didn't know anyone or the language. She had to start over from scratch, but she was determined to make her daughters' dreams come true.
She was a talented knitter and spent countless hours creating beautiful hand art pieces made with love. She left behind these hand art pieces along with beautiful words of wisdom and poetry for her grandchildren to be read on their wedding days. She knew that she would not be able to attend their weddings in physical form, but she still wanted them to feel her love and leave a special gift that would last a lifetime.
Kastriote was devoted to her faith and prayed diligently to God. She was a kind, compassionate, and strong woman who loved God and was disciplined with her faith. Her family looked up to her for strength in difficult times, and she always seemed to know the right thing to say or do. Despite the challenges she faced in life, she never lost faith in God.
We will never forget the strength and courage she showed us during her life, including an 8+ year battle with ovarian cancer. Even though she was dying, she was still strong for her family, telling them that she was good.
After a long and hard-fought battle with cancer, the time had finally come. Even though it was difficult to say goodbye, she was at peace before her last breath, knowing they would all be okay.
Kastriote is an inspiration to us all, and we will always cherish our memories of her. May God grant her peace in the afterlife. Amen.
She is survived by her two loving daughters, Valbona Lunsford and her husband, Chadwick of Delray Beach, FL and Estela Paschall and her husband, Robert of Fort Myers, FL; four siblings, Nesime Brahollari of Albania, Murat Metollari (Ikbale) of Albania, Tomor Metollari (Luli) of Italy and Fatbardha Lelaj (Muhamet) of Albania; four adored grandchildren, Grady, Jacob, Sophie, and Zoey; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A Graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA) in loving memory of Kastriote Q. Metollari.
