Kendrick Wellman Parks' Obituary
Kendrick Wellman Parks, 89, of Estero, FL died September 1, 2014 at his residence. Cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Estero United Methodist Church, 8088 Lords Way St., Estero, FL 33928. Kendrick was born June 6, 1925 in Washington D.C., the son of Edgar Kendrick and Nora (Bond) Parks. He married Elva Marcey on March 11, 1946 in Washington D.C. Kendrick was a veteran of the US NAVY. He was a proud graduate of George Washington University, Washington D.C. and was especially proud of his career as an Aerospace Engineer for NASA. He attended Estero United Methodist Church and was an avid outdoorsman, with an amazing love for Alaska. He enjoyed hunting and fishing for grouper in the Gulf, until his health prohibited him from doing so. He cared more for his family and others than focusing on himself. Surviving are his wife, Elva; sons, Russell Parks and wife, Felicia of Fort Myers, Jeffrey Parks and wife, Peggy of Naples, FL; brother, Don R. Parks of Rileyville, VA; grandsons, John K. Parks and Daniel R. Parks of Dale City, CA; and great-grandson Jonah Parks. The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33907, are assisting the Parks family with arrangements.
