Kenneth Coatswith Gibson's Obituary
Kenneth Coatswith Gibson passed away with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 following a recent illness. He was 88 years old.Mr. Gibson was born on October 9, 1926 in South Shields, Tyne & Wear, England. He was educated in the United Kingdom and received specialized training and work experience to become a Management Accountant. He engaged in a long and successful career in his chosen field, mostly working in the Oil and Shipping industry.Upon retirement, Mr. Gibson relocated to Southwest Florida and became a parishioner at Resurrection of our Lord Church in Fort Myers. The vibrant spirit of this parish found a place in his heart and he quickly became involved with many of the activities. Loving God, serving the Church and helping his Parish became his vocation and pastime during his golden years.He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife Mary Elizabeth (Maguire) Gibson; his daughters Penny Schmidt and Nikola Russell and grandson Jonathan Schmidt. He is also survived by a number of extended family and many more people who were proud to call him a friend.A Memorial Mass is being planned for a nearby future date at Resurrection of our Lord Church, 8121 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, Florida 33919, (239) 481-7172.
