Kenneth L. Johnson's Obituary
Kenneth Johnson, 82 died on March 1, 2023 at Discovery Village in Fort Myers, Florida surrounded by his loving family. The son of Arthur and Iola (nee Nelson) Johnson, he was born in Kane, PA on July 18, 1940. Later his family moved to Titusville, PA where he graduate in 1958 and entered the United States Air Force. Following his discharge, he moved to Erie, PA and in 1965 he married Carole McGraw, the love of his life and they remained happily married for 57 years until death parted them.
Before retiring in 2000, Ken was co-owner and President of Venango Machine Co in Wattsburg, PA for 28 years. Ken previously worked at Custom Engineering Co. He lived an extraordinary life and was loved by all who knew him.
Upon retiring, Ken moved to Fort Myers, FL where he enjoyed serving as Small Claims Mediator for the 20th District Judicial Court in Fort Myers, FL for 10 years.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed boating, camping and especially golfing with his grandson, Logan.
He was a devoted member of Cypress Lake United Methodist Church and served in several different ministries including Kairos Prison Ministry, Stephen Ministry and serving communion to shut-ins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Duane R. Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Carole; children, Julianne (Michael Horrigan) and Sean Johnson; grandchildren, Logan, Remlee and Riley Horrigan; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Cypress Lake United Methodist Church, 8570 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33919.
