Kenneth George Kaltenmark's Obituary
Kenneth George Kaltenmark, 88, of Sanibel, FL and Locust Grove, VA, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, in Fort Myers, FL.
Ken is joining his beloved wife of 63 years Sharon (Ramlow) Kaltenmark who passed away in 2024. He is survived by his loving sons, John (Kirsten) Kaltenmark, David Kaltenmark, and Steven (Emily) Kaltenmark; and his cherished grandchildren: Ryan Kaltenmark, Katie (Ramsey) Pokryfke, Kevin (Erin) Kaltenmark, and Spencer & Blake Kaltenmark. He also leaves behind his precious great-grandchildren, Cooper and Parker Pokryfke; sister Ruth (Kaltenmark) Young and numerous nieces & nephews. Ken was preceded in death by parents and his sister Jean (Kaltenmark) Rofkar.
Ken was born on December 8, 1937, in Toledo, OH. He graduated from Central Catholic High school in 1955 then went on to the University of Toledo where he earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1959 and his master’s in electrical engineering in 1961. He and Sharon met while at UT and were married June 24, 1961. Shortly after they were married, Ken began his 30-year career at Magnavox Government & Industrial Electronics in Ft. Wayne, IN. In 1985, Magnavox moved Ken & Sharon to Virginia where Ken ended his career with Magnavox in 1991. He continued working for defense contractors until he and Sharon both retired in 2002 and moved permanently to Lake of the Woods in Locust Grove, VA where he enjoyed tennis, golf, and lake life.
In 2014, Ken & Sharon purchased their dream condominium on Sanibel Island. Ken was active on the Sunset South condominium board, played on the Dunes & Beachview tennis teams and participated in the Friday afternoon golf league. He also enjoyed crosswords and jigsaw puzzles. Ken will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and dedication to his family. He touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and service.
