Kenneth Kevin Sands' Obituary
Kevin Sands of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away at his residence with his loving family by his side on Saturday, January 8, 2022 following some recent health challenges. He was 67 years old.
Kevin was born on December 23, 1954 at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida and was proud to consider himself a "True Floridian," being born in Lee County and thereafter being raised, educated, working and settling down all in North Fort Myers. He was the proud son to Betty Belle (Williams) and Charles William "C.W." Sands. Throughout his working years, Kevin spent almost his entire career in the local area as a General Contractor and became the sucessessful owner/operator of Sands Exterior Design Inc. As a True Floridian, Kevin loved soaking up the Florida Sunshine, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, college football, chicken wings with a cold beer, and ice cream. When he wanted to get away, you could usualy find Kevin out on a cruise or enjoying going to the Beau Rivage or seeing some shows in Las Vegas. Kevin could also find peace and comfort close to home by playing music, tabletop shuffleboard and darts or by worshipping with his fellow members of the Bayshore Chapter of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Kevin leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Joanne (Henderson) Sands; his beloved sons Timothy (Karla) Sands and Kevin (Thyme) Sands; stepson Brian Yaughn; brother Kim Sands; sisters Sheila (Carl) Lawton, Jacqueline (Brent) Casterline, Tammie (Terry Gilbar) and Maureen Sands. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren:- Alex (Kelsey) Leite, Alaina Leite, Emily Sands, Brent (Nikki) Sands, Bradley (Holly) Sands, Oliivia Sands, James Braddock and Wyatt Braddock. 4 great grandchildren:- Aleeah, Aubrie, Liam and Karson; many nieces and nephews, a great number of extended family members and many others who were proud to call him a friend. Sadlly, Kevin was preceeded in death by his parents; his brothers Jackie, Tim, Steven, Charles and Larry and sisters Marylin and Marsha.
Immediate funeral services are private. Arrangements for Kevin's final care have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. The family is planning a celebration of life on Saturday January 22nd, 2022 @ 2 pm at the Yacht Club Colony Park, 2025 Club House Road, North Fort Myers, Florida 33917.
