Kenneth A. Smith's Obituary
Kenneth Alan Smith, 72, a North Fort Myers, FL resident since 2013, formerly of Nutley, NJ; where he grew up, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 3, 2020 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, FL.
He was born July 20, 1947 in Glen Ridge, NJ to the late Richard and Helen (Cowan) Smith. Kenneth lived most of his life in Essex County, NJ and then moved to the Ocean Township area in South New Jersey in the late 1990’s.In 2013 Kenneth relocated to North Fort Myers, FL.
He was a proud United States Air Force Veteran who loved his country and was very patriotic.
Professionally, he was an Iron worker and also a construction worker with
both his father and brother. He went on to work as a professional window installation expert for many companies and independently; Kenneth was self-employed and his expertise in this field spanned over 35 years.
Kenneth had a Tremendous passion for music and loved singing and dancing. He loved the Jersey Shore as well as all nautical things. He also loved to travel, nature, landscaping, and also had an immense love for animals.
He is predeceased by his daughter, Sherri Marie Smith in 1997; as well as brother, Richard and sister, Barbara. Kenneth is survived by daughter, Jill Michelle Smith of Bloomfield, NJ; as well as longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth Steih Manahawkin, NJ.
No formal services for Kenneth are scheduled at this time.
