Kim P. Gonzalez's Obituary
Our dear beloved family member Kim P. Gonzalez of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers following some recent health challenges. She was 63 years old.Kim was born July 26, 1956 at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida to her parents John David and Beverly Jean Poucher of St. Petersburg, Florida. Kim graduated from North East St. Petersburg High School and then attended the Daytona School for the Blind in Daytona Beach, Florida where she met Felix Gonzalez. They were married on April 2, 1975 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Petersburg, Florida. They were married for 44 years and made their home in Fort Myers, Florida. Kim worked for the Lee County School District as a lunch room monitor at Riverdale High School and Lehigh Acres High School until an accident caused a career change. She thereafter worked for the Board of County Commisioners as a receptionist in Fort Myers for 14 years until the time of her retirement in 2018. Kim loved celebrating Birthdays and her Wedding Anniversaries with Felix. She enjoyed collecting bells of every kind, Beanie babies and loved collecting Avon. Her favorite musicians were Carrol King, James Taylor and the Beatles.Kim leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband Felix Gonzalez; mother Beverly Jean Poucher; brothers John David Poucher II and Thomas Dane Poucher; her sisters Julie Nanette Tokotch and Beverly Kiernan. Sadly, Kim is preceded in death by her father, but she also leaves behind many extended family members and a great many friends, too many to mention, that were very special to her. She will be greatly missed and warmly remembered by all who knew and loved her.A Memorial Service for Kim will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2019 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Friends will be received by the family for an hour prior to this service beginning at 1:00 PM also inside the funeral home chapel.Kim was an organ donor, and her special request was donation of her corneas to the Lions Club and thereby give the gift of sight to someone.
