Larry W. Bergeson's Obituary
Larry W. Bergeson (80) of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.
Larry was born in Racine, Wisconsin, to Clifford and Lois Bergeson. Following his graduation from Park High School in 1960, Larry went on to a 39 year career with S.C Johnson and Son, retiring as a Senior Research Scientist. While on a voluntary military leave from S.C Johnson, Larry served with distinction in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft radar technician, serving in Montana, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
Having met prior to his military service, Larry married Gilda Bergeson, his wife of 54 years, not long after his return from Vietnam. They have one child, Todd Bergeson, who resides in Knoxville, TN, with his wife Julia and Larry’s grandsons William and Evan. He is also survived by his younger brother Jack, of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
An avid traveler, Larry was able to visit many corners of the world, from Africa and Europe to Australia and Asia. He was particularly proud of his work in Malaysia, Thailand, Bali, and China. During his lengthy retirement, he enjoyed building 1960s muscle cars, amateur radio, and community involvement on several homeowner’s boards.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 6th, 11:00 a.m. at the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Ft. Myers, FL., immediately followed by lunch at Cristof’s on McGregor, 10231 McGregor Boulevard, Ft. Myers.
