Larry R. Eveland, 73, of Fort Myers, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 following an extended illness. He was born January 18, 1943 in Penn Yan, NY and moved to Fort Myers from Rochester, NY in 1971. Larry is survived by his wife of Read Obituary
Larry was one of the first patients I met when I came to Fort Myers as a nephrology social worker. He taught me how to live life well despite a chronic illness that can make enjoyment of life difficult. I see him on his motorcycle, hear his laugh, and see his love for Norma who kept him going when he thought about quitting. Thank you Larry for teaching me how to live. I remember when Uncle Larry took me for a ride on his motorcycle probably 40 years ago. As a young boy that was awesome. He always seemed at home when he was on one. I was also impressed with how he could always figure out how to fix something or make it better. He would just go into his garage and start tinkering with it until it was fixed or improved. His passion for The March of Dimes was inspiring. He will be greatly missed. When I hear thunder now I will imagine Uncle Larry revving his Big Harley in Heaven.Love ya, Chris and Deb

Larry was a very special kind of man. He was more like a brother to me rather than a brother in law. Larry went through more bad things in his life than a dozen other men could have survived. In all the years that I was around Larry, I never once heard him complain of pain and he almost always wore a smile on his face. He never let his health problems get in his way. He road motor cycles, went scuba diving, enjoyed target shooting with his pistol and more things I can not remember. Larry was one in a million for sure and he will be missed by many. Larry was my brother by marriage but he was as real a brother as if by blood. He and I enjoyed so many hobbies and memories of times spent together I will forever cherish. Rest in peace my brother!
There are so many memories that we have with Larry and Norma. All of them have been wonderful times.We are so lucky to have had the privilege of being a part of their lives.
