I will be remembering many lovely parties and other happy times shared with Lavern over the many years she lived near us in Illinois. She, Ed, and family are in our thoughts and prayers, especially during services tomorrow. Rest in peace, Lavern. We knew LaVern and Ed when they lived in the same condo building as we do at Breckenridge in Estero, FL, and were sorry to have lost their company when they moved a few years ago. But they were much admired and loved by all their Breckenridge neighbors and friends for their positive attitude and kindness and caring toward others. It's with great sadness that we learned of Lavern's recent passing. She waged a strong battle against cancer. In fact, we weren't even aware for quite some time of the fact that she was fighting this dreaded disease because whenever we saw her she was smiling and always concerned about others. To Ed, who also was always upbeat and active, we send our deepest sympathy. And to their family as well. We had the pleasure of getting to know both Lavern and Ed when we bought their condo in Breckenridge. You could just not find a more adorable couple! Lavern's wonderful sense of humor and pleasant nature will be so missed. We feel privileged to have had Lavern as a friend. Our sincere condolences and prayers go out to Ed.
