Leon Wathier Beebe III's Obituary
Leon Wathier Beebe, III
On Sunday, August 3rd, 2025, at 1:07 P.M., laying safely in his own bed (a wish of his was to pass here at home) at our family compound, LeeLee took his final breath. Lee bravely fought h`is over four-year battle with stage 4 liver cancer, enjoying every minute of the life he had left until just recently. He asked us to throw him a kegger “it’ll either be a party where I can enjoy my family and friends or it’ll be one hell of a wake”, and on Saturday, July 26th we made another one of his final wishes come true. Over 50 people came to share stories & memorable times with Lee, with Adam from Mission B-B-Q graciously providing all the food!
Lee was a proud United States Army Veteran, having served his country stateside, in Germany and in Vietnam. Some of his remains will be proudly placed alongside his fellow servicemen and servicewomen at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
Lee was preceded in death by his sister, Tina Marie Beebe, his parents: Leon W., Jr. and Anna Mae (Hitchner) Beebe, the love of his life/first wife Wendy Walters Beebe, his grandparents and many other family members & friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory his baby sister, Holly and her husband Andy, Marth; his nieces Amy Lee (Jonathan) Maietta and Melissa Alaine (Frank) Imparato, and his best friend and nephew, Dean Allen, Jr. (Ashli) Quesinberry; his great-niece and -nephews, who were more like his grandchildren and were his true reasons for living and beating his cancer for so long: Malakye Matthew Quesinberry, Winter Genevieve Imparato and Mattheus Alexander Quesinberry. Never having had children of his own, his love for these three children was greater than anyone could have ever imagined, and we promised him we’d keep his memory alive for each of them. Of his many cousins he leaves behind, he undoubtedly would want us to especially honor Lynda (Pedrick) Hitchner. A Nurse herself, Lynnie spent the past months away from
her own family & life in New Jersey to help care for and love Lee.
She was with him when Lee took his final breath, and this family will be forever grateful for her love and dedication to Lee and to all of us. He also leaves his “other family”, the crew at Upright Aluminum, especially Matt. These folks were a huge part of Lee’s life through Dean, and he loved each of them dearly. Lee was by no means a perfect person, but he loved his village completely and did his best to take care of each of us in his own way. He is so very missed and will continue to be so. Rest in Peace, LeeLee. We’ve got it from here.
