Leona Thompson's Obituary
Leona Thompson, 79, of Fort Myers, FL. passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020. She was born September 18, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA to Leo and Thelma (Bumgardner) Kennedy. She and her husband, Robert, moved to Florida in 2009 from Ocean City, NJ. She retired as a registered nurse and also practiced as a Naturopathic Doctor. She enjoyed playing Mahjong and riding her bicycle. She was a long-time avid participant of Golf and Tennis. She enjoyed doing crafts and decorating her home.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert Thompson; her children: Robert Thompson, Jr. (Maria), Karen Thompson, Laurie Fox (Dave) and J. Douglas Thompson (Chris); her grandchildren: David, Amanda, Stephanie, Ryan, Bobby, Jared, Lindsey and Kayla and 4 great grandchildren: Calvin, Evelyn, Ava and Giovanni. Also surviving are her siblings: Michael and Patricia. She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph.
