Leonard Luke Allen was born on April 26, 1954 to Mavis and Leonard Allen, in Kingston, Jamaica. On September 12, 2023, at age 69, we bid a peaceful farewell after the most valiant fight of his life.
Luke was not only a beloved member of his family and community, but a loving family man and devoted friend. As a father and grandfather, he cherished the special relationships he had with his offspring.
Luke is survived by his children: Dwayne, LaKeesha (Kevin), LaTonya, Travis (Nikkisha), Nicole, Olympia, Samuel (Nichola), Moraina, Patrick (Brittany), and Leza. Luke also leaves behind his sisters: Deloris, Hyacinth, Rita, and Novia (John), along with his cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his life partner, Paula Davis. Luke was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Mavis Allen and his brother, Hugh (AKA Mike).
In addition to his family and friends, Luke's dedication extended to serving in the United States Army. His military service instilled in him discipline and a deep commitment to his country, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Luke possessed both, skilled hands and a generous heart, always ready to lend a hand to repair things and brighten lives. His passions included painting, fixing things, and helping others. His hobbies included watching wrestling and westerns. Luke had a special knack for bringing smiles to other faces, whether he was immersed in his painting or joyfully fixing things. He found solace and fulfillment in using his talents to bring joy to those around him.
Although he is no longer with us, his memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memories bring comfort to those mourning his loss.
