Leonard J. Hill Jr.'s Obituary
Leonard J. Hill, Jr., 83, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Health Park Hospital.
Born on February 11, 1942, in Buffalo, New York, Leonard was the son of the late Leonard J. Hill, Sr. and Olga (Kocsey) Hill. He was raised in Buffalo, where he attended Canisius High School and later graduated from Canisius University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
Leonard began his working life alongside his Father in the window business before embarking on a successful career in management with Sears, Roebuck and Company. In 1975, he and his wife relocated to Fort Myers, Florida, where they established Lenny’s Furniture. Together, they proudly owned and operated the family business for nearly five decades, until their retirement in 2024.
A true car enthusiast, Leonard took great pride in his red Corvette. He also enjoyed boating and fishing and remained a devoted fan of the Buffalo Bills throughout his life. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time with his wife on their weekly trips to Seminole Casino Immokalee, where they enjoyed gambling and formed many lasting friendships.
Leonard will be remembered for his strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, and deep devotion to his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Doris E. (Hamilton) Hill; his loving children, Allyson Hill, Lene Hill, and Trey Hill; his brother, Paul (Terry) Hill; two cherished grandsons; and his loyal poodle, Lady. In addition to his parents, Leonard was predeceased by his sister, Sue Spisiak.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. (noon), with burial and a reception to follow at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens.
