Leonard M. Weinraub's Obituary
Leonard Morton Weinraub, 95, formerly of Naples, Florida, died on December 27, 2015 at Brookdale Lakes Park Senior Living Center in Fort Myers, Florida. Mr. Weinraub was preceded in death by his wife Rose Steiber Weinraub and a son Joseph David Weinraub of Malacca City, Malaysia. He leaves two daughters, Susan Ferkel of Fort Myers and Janet Lee Weinraub of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Leonard was born and raised in Fort Wayne, the son of Joseph and Minnie Weinraub. Leonard lived and worked in Fort Wayne until 1989 when he and his wife retired to Florida. Mr. Weinraub served honorably in the Air Force during WWII as a waist-gunner on a B-24 in the European theatre flying 12 missions over Germany. After the war and his father’s death, he took over his father’s business named Ft. Wayne Window Cleaning and Business Maintenance Co. where he served as President for over 50 years. His family owned company had an excellent reputation, and Leonard was a well-respected businessman. He was active in community affairs and proudly served on the Ft. Wayne Redevelopment Commission. He was also a life-long active member of Temple Achduth Vesholom and served as President of Brotherhood and on the Temple Board of Directors. Leonard enjoyed sports, travel, boating, fishing, poker and was an avid golfer at Orchard Ridge Country Club. He was a die-hard Yankee fan. Leonard had a friendly and fun-loving spirit.
