Lera E. Gaddie's Obituary
Lera E. Gaddie, 89, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on September 5, 2013 in Fort Myers, Florida. Mrs. Gaddie was born in East Fork, Kentucky, a daughter of the late James T. Russell and Margaret Pendleton. Lera was the widow of William D. Gaddie, Sr, who was a pilot with the Navy and then with Civil Air Transportation/Air America. Mrs. Gaddie had resided in Japan from 1950-1975 and upon her return to Fort Myers was co-owner of Gaddie’s Hardware & Marine Supplies on San Carlos Blvd. Her memberships included the Cypress Lake Country Club and the Myerlee Country Club. She was an avid bridge player. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, William D. Gaddie, Jr. of Florida, David A. (Kim) Gaddie of California and Diana (Arveen) Romain of Florida; her grandchildren, Jason, Mark, Matthew and Kathryn Gaddie and Christian, Mette and Ian Romain; one great-grandchild; and her siblings, James D. (Judy) Russell, Marine Caffee both of Kentucky and Marlene Gabehart of Indiana. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will be present to receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM. Entombment will be in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
