Leroy Millett Johnson's Obituary
Leroy Millett Johnson of Lehigh Acres, Florida passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017 following some recent health challenges. He was 67 years old.Leroy Johnson was born on August 28, 1949 to the late Agnes Duncombe Johnson and Millett Johnson in Hollywood, Florida. He was the 4th of 10 children. He grew up in South Florida and graduated from Attucks High School. Leroy was an accomplished drummer and percussionist, and was the section leader for 4 years for the Eagles Marching Band. Leroy joined the United States Air Force and served four years. After serving he returned to south Florida and worked in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator. In later years, he relocated to Orlando and started a landscape business. He gave his life to Christ at the Southside Church of Christ. He worked diligently in the original tape ministry. Leroy loved music and the Miami Dolphins.A few years ago he relocated to Lehigh Acres Florida where he and his sister Mary Johnson shared a residence. Leroy’s earthly journey ended on March 10, 2017. He had received excellent care from Lehigh Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center and Hope Hospice.Leroy is survived by two sons Lavinski and Kevin Johnson. Two sisters, Mary Johnson and Yvonne Johnson Davis (Willie). Two brothers, Larry E, Johnson and Tyrone Johnson (Ernestine). He will be mourned by a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.Immediate funeral ceremonies are private.
