Lewis Elmer Sharp's Obituary
Lewis Elmer Sharp, 94 of Marlinton WV passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024 at the home of his daughter in Cape Coral, FL after an extended illness.
He was born in Marlinton, WV on November 1, 1929 to the late Dolpha Yeager Sharp and Regina Sue (nee Underwood) Sharp.
Lewis was a proud United States Air Force Veteran serving from 1949-1953 as a member of the crash & rescue team at Andrews Air Force Base. After his time in the Air Force he eventually returned to Marlinton and began his own auto body business "Sharp's Body Shop". He enjoyed hunting and fishing his entire life, and after retiring from his business, he lived his dream during the summer & fall season for several years, as a big game hunting guide in Wyoming.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Hubert J. Sharp, Lowell A. Sharp, Dharl L. Sharp, Thomas E. Sharp and sister Louise Sharp Carpenter.
Lewis is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Jane Sharp; three children, Theresa A. Daniels of Cape Coral, FL, Michael L. Sharp (Gretchen) of Goddard, KS and Vickie Sharp Walton (Carolyn) of Pittsburg, PA; one sister, Lunabelle Sharp Wilfong of Marlinton, WV; one brother, Robert Y. Sharp (Ruth) of Marlinton, WV; five grandchildren, David Clay Pryor (Dallas, GA), Gail Marie Pryor, (St. Pete, FL), Robert Lewis Sharp (Wichita, KS), Mathilda Louise Sharp-Mathias (Kyle), Maize, KS and Parker Walton (Pittsburg, PA); as well as one great grandson, Evan Garrett Anderson and several loving nieces and nephews.
A remembrance of LIfe will be held in West Virginia at a later date.
