Lila C. Alexander's Obituary
FORT MYERS - Lila C. Alexander, 89, of Fort Myers, FL (formerly of Fond du Lac, WI) passed away on October 11, 2021, at Atrium of Liberty
Park. Cremation has taken place.
Lila has written her own obituary as follows: “I was born on February 14, 1932, in Alpena, Michigan, the daughter of Rosele and Samuel Camp. I grew
up on a farm 30 miles North of Nowhere. I went to school in a one room schoolhouse and survived without electricity or telephone for the first 12 years of my life. My family sold the farm in 1944 and moved back to Alpena where my father died. My family broke up and I went to Detroit, MI to live with my sister. I met my first husband, Orly Jensen in 1949 and had 2 sons, Morley and John. In 1956, we moved to Fond du Lac, WI, my marriage broke and in 1957 I met the love of my life, H. Robert Alexander. We married and had one son, Jeffrey Alexander and a daughter, Martha Jayne Alexander who died just before her first birthday. Bob and I built our first house where we lived growing up. We built 3 more houses and rehabbed 2 more in the next 50 years. I worked with the builders, and planted hundreds of trees with the help of Bob. I took special care of my gardens at each house we lived in. After the death of my love of my life, I moved down to Fort Myers, FL in 2018 to be closer to my son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Tammy Alexander.”
Lila is survived by her son, Jeffrey C. and his wife, Tammy of Fort Myers,
FL and her son Ryan Patchett of Summerville, SC, 3 grandchildren, Jason
Alexander of Denver, CO, Leah Alexander of Lac du Flambeau, WI and
Lexy Alexander of Fond du Lac, WI. Also survived are 2 sons from my
first marriage, Morley (Lisa) Jensen of South Carolina and John Jensen
of Madison, WI. Also survived from my husband’s first marriage his son,
H. Robert Alexander III and his daughter, Sabrina (Sam) Powell and their
daughter, Sonja all of Madison, WI.
