Lillian Elyda "Billie" Glasscock's Obituary
Lillian Elyda Glasscock, “Billie” of Fort Myers, Florida passed away with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 following some recent health challenges. She was 103 years old.Lillian was born on August 4, 1911 in Chicago, Illinois, the beautiful daughter of Kristine Marie (Clausen) and Andrew Paulsen Andersen who came to America shortly before Billie’s birth from Bolleskow, Denmark. The family later settled in Humboldt, Iowa. Billie attended nursing school and spent the majority of her career as a Registered Nurse Supervisor of the pediatric ward at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in DesMoines, Iowa. She was the loving wife of Ira I. Glasscock who owned a local automobile dealership, Glasscock Chevrolet, in Willoughby, Ohio.Mrs. Glasscock is survived by her daughter Diane E. Burt (James) of Cape Coral, Florida; son Michael I. Glasscock (Judith) of Hickory, North Carolina; grandchildren Mark D. Burt of Cape Coral, Michael D. Burt (Christine) of West Palm Beach, Florida, Dr. Melissa D. Reigle (Robert) of Painesville, Ohio, Dr. Heather Hatcher (Wade Hampton) of Mount Airy, North Carolina; Dr. David Glasscock (Laura) of Matthews, North Carolina, Dr. Bradley Glasscock (Caitlin) of Berkeley, California. She also leaves behind nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews plus many extended family members and others who were happy to call her a friend.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555.
