Lillian A. Sauer's Obituary
Lillian (Lil) Sauer passed away May 5th 2018, with her loving family, Alan and Kay Moore, holding her hand in her final moments. She had been living at Life Care Center in Estero since last March. She was a resident of RPV in Fort Myers, FL for 32 years and would have celebrated her 95th birthday May 7th. She has much family living in RPV including: her son Alan Moore and his wife Kay, and was an Aunt to Nancy Trumbauer, Hope and (Frank) Giordani, and John & (Betty) Schlectic. She also has a daughter, Joan Morgan and her husband (Wayne) who live in Old Forge, NY. Lil also had 4 Grandsons Mike Moore, Alan and (Eileen) Moore, Kevin and (Krista) Morgan, and Brian and (Christine) Morgan and 5 Great Grandchildren, Avari and Keely Morgan, and Aidan, Tara and Shannon Moore that were the highlight of her life. Lil has one remaining sibling, her Sister Alice and (Mel) Brandis living in Florida. Many other nieces, nephews, family and friends also will miss her dearly. Lil is preceded in death by her parents Willard and Alice (Dauernheim) Gerhart; her husband of 22 years Ernest (Ernie) Sauer (May 4th 1978) This is 40 years and 1 Day between their passing. She is also preceded in death by 7 siblings, Art, Ed, Paul, Sam, Grace, Edna and Gladys. Lil had a beautiful spirit and was very active in all the RPV activities. She served as Vice President on the board, and was very proud of all her accomplishments; she played an important role in the remodeling and enlarging of our pool. She loved to play cards, and Bingo and spent many evenings over the years with her old friends at their kitchen tables, or in the clubhouse. Having lived here for all those years; many of her old friends have passed, but she was quick to make new ones. She especially enjoyed the visits these friends made to Life Care Center to see her and brightened her day, and remind her how much she loved RPV… That was her home.Lil was a seamstress and OR Surgery nurse and grew up in the Colmar, Sellersville area of PA. She moved to Royal Palm Village, Ft Myers FL in November 1983, and in 2015 lived at Brookdale assisted living Ft Myers, FL, and in March 2017 moved to Life Care of Estero, FL. Lil loved doing gardening and had a beautiful collection of Birds and her wonderful collection of Snow Babies. She also loved to cook, especially War Cake, tapioca & rice puddings, Roast Beef dinner, and sweet potatoes.Lil also loved to go to the beach and go shelling… She had hundreds of beautiful shells she had collected. She had used many shells to make decorative pictures, mirrors and other keepsakes. She also enjoyed listening and watching dvd’s of gospel music, especially the Gaither Family.Lil will have a Memorial Service in PA. Royal Palm Village will be able to celebrate her life at their RPV Memorial service next year.
