Lillian H. Washington's Obituary
Lillian H. Washington, “Tiger Lil,” 91, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, shortly after surviving a stroke. She was born September 25, 1929 to James and Frances (Tappan) Hoar in Orange, New Jersey. Lillian married the love of her life, Francis P. Washington, Sr. She is survived by her five children, Lynda, Michael, Frank, Karen and Thomas; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Francis, her mother, father, brothers Bob, Jim, Michael and Gene, and beloved dog Pattycake.
From a young age, Lillian loved singing and dancing. Her love for singing continued on through her adult life where she was known to grab the karaoke microphone and belt out her favorite hits like ,“After the Lovin’,” and was part of the St. Andrew choir, “The Meditations,” for several years. Lillian was often heard singing Irish tunes to her grandchildren and later, great grandchildren just to see them smile.
A Mass will be held at St. Andrew at a later date, followed by an additional mass at Our Lady of the Lake in Verona, New Jersey. Lillian will rest next to her husband at the Gate of Heaven in East Hanover, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Lung Association.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 28, 2020 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Boulevard South, Cape Coral, FL.
