Linda Sue Hanwacker's Obituary
Linda Hanwacker, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on April 19, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and inspiration. Born on April 8, 1959, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, her journey through life was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Gerard "Jerry", and cherished children, Heather and Christopher. Linda's diverse talents and passions included painting, sculpting, cooking, and gardening, reflecting her vibrant spirit. She approached every occasion with enthusiasm and creativity, allowing her love for cooking and baking to delight those around her.
Linda’s career spanned remarkable achievements in business and academia. With degrees including a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), a Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance, she became a visionary leader in business continuity and disaster recovery. Linda served as an Adjunct Professor at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) and Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW). In 2018, she was honored with the prestigious BCI (The Business Continuity Institute) Americas Award in Continuity and Resilience Consultant. Linda was also a published author in Business Continuity.
A memorial service will be held at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, with visitation on May 2nd, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The funeral procession on May 3rd will lead to the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord for the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, followed by a procession back to the cemetery for a burial ceremony at 1:00 PM.
