Linda Renee Rosenblum's Obituary
Linda Renee Rosenblum, 78, a resident of Punta Gorda, Florida since 1999, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 30th, 2023 in her home, under the care of Hope Hospice. She was born November 3rd, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Alexander and Adelaide (nee Schneider) Pockriss. She is predeceased by her loving grandparents, Emanuel and Sadie Schneider.
Linda attended Queens College in New York before marrying her husband, James. They moved to Marlboro, New Jersey, where they lived and raised their family. During this time, Linda was the co-owner of a small business while raising her two school-age daughters. She successfully owned and operated a second-hand clothing store in Freehold, New Jersey.
After selling her business, Linda spent many joyful years volunteering at Saint Clair's Home, caring for HIV-infected babies and toddlers. This later led to a new role as an employee at Jersey Shore Medical Center in the Infectious Disease Department. It brought her great joy to see the smiles and laughter on the children's faces.
After moving to Florida, Linda continued to enjoy boating, playing Mahjong with dear friends, and took up golf. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren, as well as traveling with her husband. An avid reader, Linda was a regular patron of the Lee County Library and was never without a book by her side.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, James Rosenblum of Punta Gorda, Florida; two daughters, Lisa Brooks and her husband, John of Jackson, New Jersey, and Marnie Hulan and her husband, Charles of Madison, Wisconsin; one sister, Laurel Bates and her husband, Robert of Chattanooga, Tennessee; five adored grandchildren, Eleanor, Olivia, Caden, Jarret, and Avery; as well as many beloved friends in her community.
