Linda Salyer's Obituary
Linda Salyer, Fort Myers, Florida, 63, passed away at Hope Hospice December 30, 2010 at 6:22am. Following a brave three year battle against acute myeloid leukemia cancer God said that’s enough and called her home. With her devoted husband of 36 years at her bedside she quietly slipped away. Born February 2, 1947 in Paoli Indiana to Carl and Helen Magill, who preceded her in death, she married Napoleon Salyer August 12, 1974 and he survives. Her husband had pledged to never leave her side and care for her at home as long as possible and did so until just 19 hours prior to her slipping into Heaven. She is also survived by her son Ryan of Florida and one grandson, Tyler. She is also survived by two stepchildren in Indiana. Linda devoted herself full time to her family until her son entered high school at which time she went to work for the Bedford College Center in Bedford, Indiana. In 1998, upon her husband’s retirement, they moved from Bedford to Fort Myers where they had previously purchased a home in the mid 1980’s. They soon joined the First Assembly of God church where their membership remains. Linda, along with her husband, was very active in her church which she loved dearly until God extended his hand. Services are as follows: Monday January 3, 2011 viewing will be at First Assembly of God Church located at 4701 Summerlin Road, Fort Myers from 2pm until 3pm at which time service will begin. She will then be transferred to Paoli Indiana for her final resting place. Details of the Indiana services can be obtained by contacting Jason Wellman Funeral Home in Paoli, Indiana at 812-723-2276.
