Linda Marlene Rowan Wilson's Obituary
Linda Marlene Rowan Wilson, age 55, known as "Lyn" to her friends, passed away peacefully at her home on May 31, 2026, surrounded by the love she so freely gave to others throughout her life.
Linda was born on April 10, 1971, in rural Manitoba, Canada, to the late Robert Neil Rowan and Lorna Jean (Heaman) Rowan. She was raised on the family farm, where she developed a deep appreciation for nature, animals, and the quiet strength of hard work. She graduated from Brandon High School and went on to pursue higher education, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Minot State University.
In the 1990's, Linda journeyed to the United States, eventually settling in Virginia. It was there that she built the foundation of her professional life and later met the love of her life, Douglas Wilson, in 2010. What began as a chance meeting grew quickly into a deep and lasting bond. They married in 2012 and devoted themselves to a life of love, partnership, and shared purpose.
In 2017, Linda and Douglas relocated to Fort Myers, Florida, where she continued to build her legacy through her successful career as a Therapeutic Medical Massage Therapist. Known for her exceptional skill, compassion, and dedication, Linda, as a local business owner, earned the highest ratings in her field. She had a remarkable gift for helping others heal—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—and she poured her heart into every client she served.
Linda had a profound love for the outdoors, especially spending time amongst the trees. She was a fierce animal lover and advocate, and her beloved miniature dachshund, Henry, was her constant and loving companion. She found immense joy in being around people and helping others, and she believed deeply in the positive energy of minerals and crystals and their ability to support well-being. Her work was more than a profession—it was her calling, and she renewed her own energy through the care she provided to others.
A devoted wife and loving mother, Linda cherished her family above all else. Her husband, Douglas, was truly the Moon to her Sun, and together they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and mutual devotion. In her free time, Linda dedicated herself to volunteer work, particularly supporting breast cancer awareness through therapeutic massage, or simply enjoyed quiet moments unwinding with her husband.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Neil Rowan and Lorna Jean (Heaman) Rowan; and her brother, Edward Gordon Rowan.
She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 15 years, Douglas Wilson of Florida; her children, Josh Tyler Rowan DeChellis of Florida and Kaylee Anne Rowan DeChellis of Missouri; and her stepchildren, Douglas Wilson Jr. of Idaho and Dareth Wilson (husband Robert Kiley) of Kentucky. She is also survived by her sister, Judy Anne Rowan Kidd (husband Blair) of Manitoba, Canada.
Linda’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to others will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of compassion and healing will live on in the many lives she touched.
