Lloyd Joseph Mullin's Obituary
Lloyd Joseph Mullin 86 of Naples, Fl passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023. He leaves behind his wife of 10 years Nancy Jamieson and her daughters Jill and Cari (Tom) as well as Cari and Tom’s children William and Kelsie Moore. He was a devoted father to Beth Hegberg of Madison NJ, Stephen Mullin (Katherine)of Wellesley, and Meghan Harney(Justin) of Wellesley. He his also survived by 8 grandchildren Anna and Molly (Hegberg), Maddie, Kate, and Trevor (Mullin), Ryan, Timmy, and Matthew (Harney). Lloyd is predeceased by his brother Robert Mullin and survived by his sister Carol Sibley and her daughter Diana.
Lloyd grew up in Newton MA and attended Our Lady’s High School. He served in the Army for five years, and then attended Northeastern University in Boston MA. He exhibited incredible stamina and drive as he paid his own way, and became the first in his family to receive a college degree. Lloyd started working at CompRep Associates in 1964, ultimately buying the business and running it successfully for the next forty years. During those years, Lloyd enjoyed coaching his kids, playing golf, socializing at Brae Burn Country Club, singing in Saengerfest and serving on the Board of Trustees at Northeastern University. He loved spending time on his boat and at his summer homes on Cape Cod. In search of warmth, Lloyd relocated to Fort Myers Florida, and then later settled in Naples FL. He he continued to be active on the golf course and in his communities. Throughout his life, Lloyd was a voracious reader and seeker of knowledge. He was committed to sharing ideas and challenging his friends and family to really think and consider alternatives. Lloyd kept his mind active and strong, understanding the importance of growing and expanding ones mind.
A Celebration of Life will be 12 NOON, January 6, 2024 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33907. The Interment service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery in the Field of Honor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lloyd’s memory to the Howlin Huskies Athletic Director's Fund or to the Lloyd J. Mullin Research Fellow Fund.
