Lloyd Ray Owens' Obituary
Lloyd Ray Owens, of Cape Coral, Fl., joined his heavenly family on December 16, 2017, just three days shy of his 81st birthday. He was born in Ada, Oklahoma to his parents, Valter and Mae Belle Owens. His father was a minister and his mother a saint. In 1953, at the age of 17, he was Oklahoma’s Golden Gloves state boxing champion. He owned his own Stone, Tile and Marble business for 40 years. He met his wife in California at age 12 and married her 10 years later. They were married 59 blessed years. He was a devout man that loved his Lord with all his heart and preached God’s Word everywhere he went. He never knew a stranger and was loved by all.He is survived by his wife Mary, sons Roger and wife Patricia; John and wife Kristy, and daughter Sue Fisher. A third son, David, awaits him in heaven. He has 11 grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher, Brandon, Ashley, Tiffany, Cherie, Brigid, Roger Jr., Brooke, Lara, David, and Henry. 13 and 1/2 great grandchildren, Cambree ,Delaney,Landree, Josiah, Mason, Dillon, Jackson, Addison, Shaylee, Tre, Charlee ,Cade, Hudson and his brother not yet here. He was one of 10 children of whom two sisters, Ruth Almon and Valene Parrot are awaiting his arrival. His surviving sisters are Helen Golden, Betty Ellinger, Margaret Riddle, Sharon Meeks, Barbara Wilson, Linda Berryhill, and only brother Wayne. So many wonderful nieces and nephews and brothers/Sister-in-laws. An amazing, beautiful family. He will sorely be missed. A celebration of his life is planned on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 4:00 PM in Cape Coral at his home.
