Lois Ruth Tutherly's Obituary
Lois Ruth Tutherly, 95, a resident of Ft. Myers since 1998, formerly of Old Saybrook, CT passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 in Ft. Myers, FL. She was born August 16, 1923 in Worcester, MA to the late Clarence and Etta Pierce.Lois was a member of Cypress Lake United Methodist Church for many years, where she enjoyed serving as an usher and active member of the women’s club. Previously, Lois was a resident of Windsor, Connecticut for many years, where she and her husband, Herb, raised their two daughters, Nancy and Diane. Lois was also a professor at Greater Hartford Community College, where she taught legal secretarial and medical secretarial students and published a textbook and workbook for medical secretarial training. She spent her retirement years gardening, writing up her Mayflower genealogy, visiting and babysitting her dear grandsons, Erik and Todd, traveling abroad, and sharing hours of enjoyment with her daughter, Diane. Even in her last days, she particularly loved watching the birds, dolphins and manatees at Shell Point.Lois was preceded in death by her husband Herbert W. Tutherly and her daughter Nancy Griffin.She is survived by her loving daughter, Diane Resly and her husband Alex of Cincinnati, OH; two grandsons, Erik Martinez Resly and his wife Jaclyn and Todd Christian Resly and his wife Laura.A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, October 26, 2018 at Cypress Lake United Methodist Church, 8570 Cypress Lake Drive, Ft.
