Loretta M Bolar's Obituary
Loretta M. Bolar, 88, born on November 19, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on March 3, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of the late Percy and Devolia (Jackson) Cooksey.
Loretta was raised in St. Louis and was a proud graduate of Sumner High School. She lived a life grounded in the Christian faith and carried that foundation into everything she did. She dedicated more than twenty years of service to Schnucks Grocery, where she made lasting friendships and was known for her warm and dependable spirit.
In 2020, Loretta relocated from Colorado to Fort Myers, Florida, where she continued to enjoy life’s simple and peaceful joys. In her spare time, she loved reading, going for walks, and spending quiet moments working on puzzles and word search books.
She is survived by her son, Keith Gilmore and his wife Bridget, of Fort Myers. Loretta was a loving grandmother to Keith, Keyontay, Kierre, Grace, and Grant, and leaves behind a host of cherished great‑grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Percy Cooksey, Calvin Cooksey, Adolf Cooksey, and Teddy Cooksey.
A funeral service honoring Loretta’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Loretta will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of family, and the kindness she extended to all who knew her.
