Loretta "Rette" Mary Sansone's Obituary
Loretta Mary Sansone (née Hitt) “Rette”, born on November 20, 1947, in Eureka, California, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024, in Lehigh Acres, Florida. She was the beloved daughter of the late Harris L. Hitt and Frances C. Zeller-Hitt.
Loretta's life was a testament to love, family, and culinary excellence. She was greatly admired for her sense of humor, strong work ethic and sense of justice, resilience, humility, gardening prowess, and pragmatic life advice. She was a devoted mother to her four children, whose lives she enriched with her wisdom. Her legacy continues through her 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her spirit and values.
Throughout her life, Loretta was known for her unwavering dedication to her family. Whenever she hosted, her home was a place of warmth, delicious hearty meals, and welcome, where family gatherings were filled with adventures, laughter and cherished memories. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone laugh and feel special.
Rette is also survived by her four siblings, who remember her as a loving sister. Her family bonds were a source of strength and comfort to her throughout her life, especially having her sister nearby during her final years.
Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her legacy of love and family will endure. Rette's life was a beautiful journey marked by her deep faith, compassion, and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life.
Siblings: Gerard Hitt, William Hitt, Martha Suhr, and Thomas Hitt.
Children: Gina Sansone, Peter Sansone, Frances Sansone, and Andrea Sansone.
Grandchildren: Peter, Steven, Coral, Natasha, Amber, Samantha, Connor, Madison, Lawrence, Rene, Gabriel, Vanden, Yaru, Linnea, and Nathan.
Great-grandchildren: Nakyah, Avianna, Lydia, Erica, Ava, Steven, Anthony, Andrew, Genevieve, and Frederick.
Rette's family has entrusted Fort Myers memorial Gardens with the tender care of her final arrangements. There will be a visitation on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 1pm-4pm.
