Grandma Lola’s nickname for me was “Little Miss America”, which came from a red, white and blue swimsuit I wore when very little. I was too little to remember that, but do have memories with she and my Grandpa since I can remember. I do remember riding in the car with them when little - sitting on the middle armrest between she and my Grandpa Chuck and strapped to it with a belt since there was no seatbelt there! I loved going to visit she and my Grandpa at the cottage on the Auglaize River, and visiting them in Florida. I think when I came to visit, that she would put candy in various places in the house to see how long it would take me to find it.
Grandma Lola had a gentle way about her and was always interested in catching up on the latest events In my life and my family’s life through the years. She enjoyed the people in her life and pictures of all the family. God Bess you Grandma and thank you for your peaceful presence with me throughout my life.
