Louise Jahncke Stevens' Obituary
Louise Jahncke Stevens of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully in her home after some recent health challenges. She was 94. Louise was born November 21, 1922 in New Orleans, Louisiana; the beautiful daughter of the late Walter Fredrick and Emily Keonig Jahncke. She was a proud graduate – class of 1944 of the prestigious Ward-Belmont College in Nashville, Tennessee. In April, 1946, Louise married Charles R. Stevens, Sr. and devoted her time to her family as a loving mother and dedicated homemaker. A resident of the Fort Myers community since December 1957, she has also been a long-time devoted member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 63+ years, Charles R. Stevens, Sr. Louise is survived by her five children, Nancy S. Baldwin of Covington, Louisiana, Charles R. Baldwin, Jr. of Hardee County, Florida, Emily S. Leonard of Tampa, Florida, Peter Jahncke Stevens of Hardee County, Florida and Helen S. Forster of Brentwood, Tennessee. She is also the loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Immediate funeral ceremonies are private at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest in a family cemetery plot in Metairie, Louisiana. Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is serving the family.
