Lucien A. “Butch” Varda, Jr., 72, of Fort Myers, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 after a courageous two year battle with cancer.?á He was born January 23, 1939 in Long Island, NY and moved to Fort Myers in 1954.?á He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a member of the E.A.A. (Experimental Aircraft Association) and the Civil Air Patrol. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 18 years, Mary Anne Varda; his children: Cecile Clark (Michael) of Lehigh Acres, Mike Varda (Rebecca) of Estero, Jeannine Varda of Lehigh Acres, Amy Varda of Fort Myers; his step-children: Elizabeth Mackey (Dwayne) of Boaz, AL, Franklin L. Weeks (Becky) of Charlotte, NC, Jimmy Weeks (Robin) of Bonita Springs, Deborah Griffin of Albertville, AL, Lisa Quinn (Rajesh) of Fort Myers and Robin Campbell (Mark) of Rhodesville, VA; his sister, Valerie Reedy (Tom) of North Fort Myers and seven grandchildren, fourteen step-grandchildren, four great grandchildren and fifteen step-great grandchildren.?á Also surviving is his former wife, Patricia Varda of Lehigh Acres.?á He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucien A. and Hilda Varda, Sr. and his step-granddaughter, Jennifer Hall in 2004. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with entombment to follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.?á Friends will be received from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.?á ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to defray the costs of funeral services.?á ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907, 239-936-0555.?á Online condolences may be made at: www.fortmyersmemorial.com
