Luis Barrientes Hernandez's Obituary
Luis Barrientes Hernandez of Cape Coral, Florida passed away with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 following some recent health challenges. He was 60 years old.Luis was born on December 5, 1957 in San Antonio, Texas, the proud son of Ruth (Barrientes) and Daniel Hernandez. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was the Owner of Hernandez Used Appliances in Fort Myers. Luis was also an active member of the 1st Christian Church of Cape Coral. He was married to and leaves behind his devoted wife Malinda (Suarez) Hernandez. He also leaves to cherish his memory his mother Ruth; children Nino Hernandez (Angela) and Amanda Hernandez (Nicholas Scalingi); grandchildren Nicholas Scalingi, Natalia Scalingi and Gianna Hernandez; his brother Sgt Maj. (USMC Ret.) Tony Hernandez Matias (Sonia) and sister Marcie Rivera (Rudy). Sadly, he was preceded in death by his father Daniel.A Visitation for Luis will be conducted from 3:00-5:00 PM on Thursday, July 19, 2018 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Cremation rites will be accorded following this service. A Committal Service with Military Honors provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8463 of Cape Coral will take place at 2:00 PM the following day, Friday, July 20, 2018 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery after which his urn will be laid to rest in the Field of Honor section.In lieu of flowers, the family instead suggests a memorial contribution in honor of Luis be made to the Gulf Coast Humane Society, 2010 Arcadia Street, Fort Myers, Florida 33916, (239) 332-0364.
