Luke was a colleague of mine when we used to work for Brown Shoe Company in Lee County Florida. I worked from 2001 to 2005. He attended my wedding and attended my 40 birthday. A person with great spirit, a great conversationalist and friend. Last time I had spoken to him was in 2013 when he used to work at Easy Spirit Shoes. I just found out last week from a colleague of mine with Brown Shoe Company. Very saddened. My thoughts and deepest condolences to his family and widow, Kim. May you rest in peace Luke….

We met Luke through Kim and he instantly became one of the close group of friends/family. We had so many great times and memories together. Did some road trips to see concerts – he loved his music. He was taken to soon but at least he is not suffering anymore. My heart goes out to Kim and his sister, Evette. You will always be in our hearts and memories and you will definitely be missed. Love you Luke and don't worry, we are taking care of Kimmie to get thru this difficult time. Karen and Michael Papke

Luke and I became friends back in the late 80's . I had a lawn business and was looking for help. Another friend told me he knew a guy that was looking for work and he was a good worker and he referred me to Luke. I called Luke and he and I met and I hired him. He worked for me a while, maybe a year or so and was a great worker and great to be around. We became friends and remained friends from that time on. I became friends with all his family and he mine. He would do anything for you and appreciated anything you would do for him. He had a great personality and always had a big smile and laugh. Luke worked in shoe stores for years. I would sometimes call when he was at work and he would answer and I would ask do you have Tom McCann in a box and he would say yes and I would say you better go let him out. Tom McCann shoes was a popular brand many years ago.That was my calling card when he was at work. That's an old corny joke but it was fun.I'll miss you Luke, your friend Mike Shuman
