Luther Thomas Crawford Sr.'s Obituary
Luther Thomas Crawford, 66, of Bradenton, Fl passed away Friday, December 4, 2009. Born in Phoenix City, AL and formerly of Opelika, AL, Luther was an active member of First Baptist Church of Bradenton. A graduate of Auburn University with a B.A. in Certified Public Accounting, Luther’s past memberships include the Alabama State Board of Accounting, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of Manatee County, the St. Petersburg Jaycees, the St. Petersburg Kiwanis, Tropicana Products, Inc. and was a little league baseball coach. After his recent retirement from Tropicana Products, Inc.; Luther’s activities included the Mangrove Coast Fly Fishers, the Federation of Fly Fishers and the Auburn Alumni Association. Some of Luther’s hobbies included fishing, kayaking and spending time with his grandchildren. Luther is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lu Ann; 2 children Luther Thomas Jr. and Allison Paige, both of Bradenton; 2 sisters Judy Kay Allen of Canton, GA and Vicki Love Jones of Auburn, AL; 2 granddaughters Kaitlyn Jody and Sarah LeAnn; 1 nephew and 1 niece of Auburn, AL and 1 nephew of Canton, GA. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Bradenton, FL followed by an inurnment at Skyway Memorial Gardens in Palmetto, FL. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Fort Myers, Florida.
