Luz Elenia Rivera's Obituary
Luz Elenia Rivera of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. She was born on May 3, 1952 in Canovanas, Puerto Rico, the beautiful daughter to Virginia Vazquez and Victor Manuel Cartagena. She was 71 years old at the time of her passing.
Luz leaves to cherish her loving memory her mother Virginia Vazquez and her current husband Lorenzo; sisters Mary, Carmen, Isabella and Nikita Vazquez; brother Carlos Vazquez; her cherished children Carmen (Johnny) Seay, Nelson (Allison) Ventura Jr., Rosa (Paul Sr.) Avila, Angel (April) Rivera Jr., Alejandro (Sharell) Rivera Sr., Angel Rivera III and A'Amillion Rivera. Luz also leaves behind many grandchildren, a great number of great grandchildren, a large extended family and hosts of others she was proud to meet along life's journey and call her friends.
Sadly, Luz was preceded in death by her loving husband Angel Luis Rivera Sr., her loving daughter Luz Virginia Ventura, father Victor Manuel Cartagena, sisters Elizabeth Cartagena and Sonia Vazquez and her brothers Lorenzo Vazquez Jr., Osvaldo Vazquez and Humberto Vazquez.
A Funeral Service for Luz will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Guests will be received for Visitation for two hours in advance of this ceremony beginning at 11:00 AM also inside the funeral home chapel. At the conclusion of these services, family and friends will recess to adjacent Memorial Gardens Cemetery where Luz will be laid to rest in Section II of the Meditation Garden alongside her dearly departed husband Angel.
