Lyda ?Ç£Tommie?Ç¥ Mc Kinney Best ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á April 7,1916-May 25,2012 Tommie passed peacefully,surrounded by her family,on Friday May25th at the tender age of 96.Born just outside of Pineville,WV she and her family endured the harsh Depression and the World War 2 years,losing her baby brother on the beaches of Normandy, France. After the war,an Army buddy of her brother visited to pay respects to the family and,after a fairy tale romance of just 6 days,she and Harold were married starting a journey of over 65 years. They migrated to the south in 1969 where she enjoyed the tropical climate and spent many precious moments with family and friends. She loved watching sports,especially baseball and basketball. She never met a stranger and will always be remembered as a trusting,loving mother and friend to all. Tommie leaves behind her loving husband,Harold,97 and three sons, Harold John Best Jr., T. Jerry Best of Bloomington,Indiana and James E Best. Her beloved Grandchildren, Tonia Best, Harold John Best III, Corporal Ryan P. Best, Aaron P. Best, Janelle D. Best, Jerrod M. Best, Stephen J. Best,?áLaura C. Best and Devan J. Ridenour. Also survived by 5 Great Grandchildren. In lieu of flowers,please consider a donation to Grace Bible Church, 4461 Buckingham Road, Fort Myers, 33905, as Tommie was a devout and dedicated Christian. Services will be held with a viewing beginning at 11 AM on Thursday, May 31, 2012 with a pastoral service which begins at 12:30 PM followed by a committal service at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
