Madeleine Marie Kennedy's Obituary
Madeleine Marie Kennedy, 101, of Fort Myers, FL passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Cypress Cove of natural causes. She was born January 7, 1916 in Bronx, New York to Marie and Frederick Weigold. She was the middle of three children and is survived by her sister Margot who is 99 years old. She was married to Harold V. Kennedy in 1939 for 48 years. She is survived by a daughter, Claire Taylor (Kenneth), and a son, Hank Kennedy (Susan), two grandchildren, Meredith and Douglas, 6 great grandchildren and many step grandchildren. Madeleine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother. Madeleine was an FBI wife who made homes for her family in many US cities during WWI before settling with her family in Scarsdale, NY. Madeleine was active in both church and community organizations. She was a homemaker who was an avid reader and participant in all handwork activities. She and her husband retired to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware in 1970. She has been living at Cypress Cove since 2004. A private family celebration of her life will be held next summer in Dewey Beach, Delaware. She will be sorely missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved her dearly.
