Mae Mackie Moralis' Obituary
A Celebration of Life service for centurion Mae Mackie Moralis, 101, of Chapin S.C. will be held at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel on Saturday December 6th at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends at 10:00 am preceding the service. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday December 9th at 3:00 pm at Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens in Ft. Myers, Florida. Mae was born in Key West Florida in 1913 to Leonora Thompson Mackie and Frederick Forrest Mackie; and was the wife of the late Alton (Toni) Moralis. She passed away Wednesday, December 3rd in White Rock S.C. Mae worked for Bell Telephone in the Navy Yard in Key West during World War II and as a wife of a commercial fisherman, resided in Pascagoula Mississippi and Islamorada, Ft. Myers Beach, Englewood and Naples Florida before moving to South Carolina in 1997. Mae’s passion was her family and church and loved spending time with the many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews throughout the four generations that surrounded her. She had a strong faith in God, applied spiritual values in her daily life which she openly shared with others, and practiced strong daily constitution of prayer, Bible reading and generosity of her time for listening to others. She was a member of Winkler Road Baptist church in Ft. Myers Florida.Predeceased by: Brother Charles Mackie and three sisters Edna Arthur, Florence Solomon and Irma Curry. Survived by: Niece Beverly Brogin (Marvin) of Estero Florida; Nephew Jimmy Solomon of Rockledge Florida and many great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Winkler Road Baptist Church, 5770 Winkler Rd., Ft.Myers, FL 33919 or to North Naples Church, 6000 Goodlette Rd. N, Naples, FL 34109.
