Marcia Lee Wagner's Obituary
Remembered for her love of family, welcoming hugs and kind smile, Marcia L. Wagner passed from this earth on February 1, 2020. She was born in Muncie, Indiana on December 14, 1932 to the late Sylvia and Orson Dausman. The oldest of five children, she spent her childhood in South Bend and while in high school, the family moved to Indianapolis. She was a cheerleader and graduated from Thomas Carr Howe. Marcia later attended Indiana University.
Above all things, she was devoted to her family and is survived by her loving husband Dr. Robert W. Wagner and her daughter Leslie (Tim) McMahon and son Todd (Kari) Wagner. She was blessed with three grandchildren Connor McMahon along with Charissa and Bryce Wagner who she adored cheering on in sports and school events. Marcia had three surviving siblings Mona Kirkwood (Walter), Robert Dausman (Claudia) and Mary Kay Kyle (Larry), along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Richard Dausman.
Marcia was always involved in her community. While raising their children in Merrillville, Indiana, she was active in Beta Gamma Upsilon Sorority, P.E.O., and her church circle. Another chapter began in her life, when they moved from Merrillville to Fort Myers, Florida in 1991. Marcia quickly made friends through her love of crafting, her skills at the bridge table, along with becoming a member of the Contemporary Women’s Club of Fort Myers. She and her husband were also members of Estero United Methodist Church.
Marcia and Robert enjoyed entertaining friends and family, especially at Christmas. Their adventurous spirit also led them to travel the world extensively with many close friends. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on November 28, 2019.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery on Friday March 6 at 1 P.M.
Friends will be welcome to gather for this service beginning at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to any charitable organization supporting the care and research of Dementia/Alzheimer’s Disease.
