Margaret (Peg) Boardman Young's Obituary
Margaret “Peg” Florence Young, nee: Boardman, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 following some recent health challenges. She was 96 years old.Margaret was born on September 9, 1918 in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, the beautiful daughter of Margaret (Hopkins) and Evan D. Boardman. She graduated from Cornell University in 1940 and spent the majority of her career, 37 years, as a teacher of Home Economics at North High School in Binghamton, New York. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Binghamton and the Covenant & New Hope Presbyterian Churches in Fort Myers, Florida. She was a longtime resident of the Seven Lakes Community in Fort Myers and was the Secretary of its Association from 1983-1986. Peg was also an Alumnae of the Lee County Chi Omega Society and the Sea Grape Chapter of the Embroiders Guild of America.She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter Miriam Young Braniff (Boyd) of Rockport, Texas ; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her loving husband William R. Young and her beloved son William E. Young.Immediate funeral arrangements are private.
