Margaret Devic's Obituary
Margaret Devic, wife of retired FBI Agent Charles Devic died on January 7, 2010, in Fort Myers, FL. She was born March 27, 1930, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania. Peggy attended high school in Shamokin and later graduated from St. Joseph’s College, Emmitsburg, Maryland. She was employed by the FBI in 1951 and was assigned to the Document Section of the Laboratory at FBI Headquarters, Washington, D.C., where she met and subsequently married Charles, a supervisor in Headquarters. Peggy resigned from the FBI in 1971, after 20 years, to be with her husband who was assigned to various offices throughout the country as Assistant Special Agent in Charge and Special Agent in Charge. Peggy was a member of the Roman Catholic Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord, Fort Myers. She is survived by her husband, Charles, a sister Roberta (William) Coleman, of Hilton Head, South Carolina, and a brother Lawrence (Ann) Bartol, of Shamokin, Pennsylvania. She has five nephews; Peter, John, James, and Mark Coleman and James Bartol and four nieces; Valerie, Michelle, Renee, and Simone.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 by Reverend Stephen E. McNamara at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord, 8211 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, 239-481-7172. Cremation will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord, or Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL, 239-590-0276, would be appreciated. Arrangements will be handled by Fort Myers Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home 239-936-0555.
