Margaret "Marge" J. White's Obituary
Margaret “Marge” Jean White (nee Chapman), formerly of Williamsville, NY and most recently of Cape Coral, FL, passed peacefully into eternity on Monday, January 2, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Ralph D. White, mother of David D. (Debby) White, loving grandmother of Daniel S. (Aimee) White and Laura K. White. Great-grandmother of Gideon and Ezra White. Marge passed away under the care of Hope Hospice at Gulf Coast Village in Cape Coral, Florida. She had lived at the Village since 2010. She was 89.
Marge was born in Buffalo, NY, the only child of Walter and Evangeline Chapman. She graduated as valedictorian from Kensington High School, attended Bryant and Stratton Business Institute and worked for a short time in the 1950s at the Buffalo law firm now known as Phillips Lytle. She then graduated from Houghton College (now University) with a degree in teaching. She taught in the elementary grades a total of 36 years in Holland, NY and in the Maryvale School district. She and her family began attending The Chapel on North Forest Road (now The Chapel at Crosspoint) in the early 1960s. She and her late husband loved boating and travel, enjoying cruises and international trips. They retired to Cape Coral in the 1990s and became active in their new church, McGregor Baptist in Ft. Myers. She also volunteered as a teaching assistant at various private schools. After the passing of her husband, Marge moved to Gulf Coast Village where she made many friends and enjoyed many activities.
Marge will be laid to rest in Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens. The family will have a private memorial.
