Margaret Himler Pellen's Obituary
Margaret (Peg) Pellen, 98, passed away on June 22, 2013 in Jamaica Bay in Fort Myers, Florida. Originally from Nazareth and Easton, Pennsylvania areas, Peg lived in the Jamaica Bay community in Fort Myers since the late 1980’s. She was the wife of Henry Pellen who pre-deceased her in 1994. She was also predeceased by her parents, Ludwig and Rosa Himler and her seven siblings, William Himler, Walter Himler, Hilda Himler Marcellus, Helen Himler Marcellus, Victoria Himler Williamson, Elwood Himler, and Florence Himler O’Donnell. She also has many surviving nephews and nieces who will miss her greatly. In addition, her neighbors and friends in Jamaica Bay were her second family and will miss her so very much. Throughout the past years and especially in her last months, she was lovingly cared for by her neighbors, Nancy and Robert Burnett, in their Jamaica Bay home. She was a member of The Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Fort Myers Fl. Peg was a wonderful person who relished her faith and lived life to her fullest. She excelled in the art of conversation and inspired all around her with her passion for life. She was so thankful for every year she lived and held a party on her birthday to joyfully celebrate the friends and family around her. A private celebration of her life will be celebrated in Jamaica Bay. She will be laid to rest in Memorial Gardens, Fort Myers, FL. next to her spouse Henry. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, June 28, 2013 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests friends and family make contributions in her name to Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice, 27200 Imperial Parkway, Bonita Springs, FL 34135-5801.
