Margaret C. Tenbusch's Obituary
Margaret Camilla Tenbusch (Mercer) was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. She left this world to be with the Lord on 14 June 2022 at age 79.
She was born to Doc and Leila (Ward) Mercer on 01 Oct 1942 in Whiteville, North Carolina. After graduating from high school, Marge joined the U.S. Army where she met the love of her life, Charles Tenbusch. They were married on 6 Oct 1962. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Charles Tenbusch, five children: Deborah (John) Bishop, Donna (Ray) Walton, Michael (Debra) Tenbusch, William (Giuseppina) Tenbusch, and Gary (Cheryl) Tenbusch. Nine grandchildren: Tarianne (Jose) Montoya, Amanda Tenbusch, Brittni (Kevin) Riley, Bernard (Lindsey) King III, JonCharles Tenbusch, Kiersten Tenbusch, Mia Tenbusch, Josh Tenbusch, and Chuckie Tenbusch. 10 great grandchildren: Joshua Tenbusch, Grace Bunn, Erek Bunn, Harper Montoya, Piper Montoya, Bernard King IV, Ronan Montoya, Charlotte King, Hudson LaRochelle-Tenbusch and Owen Riley. In-laws Lorraine McCoy, Jerry (Joanne) Tenbusch, Frank Molloy, Don (Anne) Tenbusch, Butch (Faye) Tenbusch, Michael Peruski, Carol Tenbusch, Dennis Gentner, and Polly Mercer. Step grand/great children Devin Bishop, Derek (Jennifer, Declan) Bishop, Joshua (Stephanie, Lailani, Ethan) Bishop, Connor Bishop, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents Doc and Leila Mercer, her in-laws Alphonse (Beatrice) Tenbusch. Sibling’s Mava (Wilbur) Parker, Maurice Mercer, Miriam Carnes, Martha (Ray) Valentine, Mitchell and Malcolm Mercer. In-laws, Alphonse Junior (Geraldine) Tenbusch, Frank McCoy, Joan Molloy, Marlene Peruski, Richard Tenbusch and Karen Gentner.
Marge loved spending time with her family, creating delicious meals and baking many different desserts, especially “Chocolate Whip” when anyone would visit. She and Charlie received much joy from being involved with Backpack Angels and always being members of the Catholic Church. She was an avid bowler for most of her life, loved golfing, walking, bike riding, dancing, and cracking jokes. Most of all, she loved her husband Charlie and their shared love of Jesus Christ.
A memorial vigil will be held at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial BLVD, on Tuesday, 21 June 2022 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Francis Xavier Church at 2157 Cleveland Avenue, Fort Myers, Florida 33901 on Wednesday, 22 June 2022 at 11:00 am. At the conclusion of Mass, family and friends will travel under escort from the Lee County Sheriff's Office to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery where Marge will receive Military Funeral Honors from The U.S. Army following which she will be laid to rest inside the Field of Honor.
