Margarete Gray's Obituary
Margarete Kromschroeder Gray was born April 16, 1932 in Frankfurt, Germany. During the Korean conflict she met Edward Philip Gray who was stationed in Germany. Margarete married her true love and life partner in a civil service in Frankfurt, Germany, 1952. They moved back to the U.S., where Margarete was proud to become a US citizen and began their family life together. Margarete and her three daughters followed Edward to many locations, as he worked for the aerospace industry. The family called home Michigan, Arizona, Florida, California, Germany and North Carolina – having lived in over 25 different houses before the two finally retired to Brevard, NC.Margarete’s greatest joy was her family and was so proud of her children’s accomplishments and she was thrilled when she became a grandmother six times over. She worked in retail for a number of years and in Real Estate helping out Ed. Upon retirement in Brevard, NC she volunteered at her church and enjoyed her friendships there.She is survived by her three daughters, Monika Bailey (John), Karen Daniels (Bill) and Christina Thompson (Owen); six grandchildren; as well as two great grandchildren.Her gentle smile and beautiful blue eyes will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Hope Hospice.Arrangements for final care have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555.
